Se non fosse stato per le guerre e per i governi la Sierra Leone sarebbe un angolo di paradiso terrestre . I suoi gioielli non sono soltanto i diamanti insanguinati che valsero a Leonardo Di Caprio la nomination per l'Oscar come migliore attore ( nel film Blood Diamond del 2006 ndr ) e che bagnarono una guerra civile durata dal 1991 al 2000. L'oro di uno dei Paesi più poveri della terra non è nascosto sotto gli altipiani che delimitano la gran parte del territorio, ma splende nella luce degli occhi di quei giovani che hanno vissuto miseria e che, d'un tratto, si ritrovano catapultati su una ribalta internazionale cercando la felicità rincorrendo semplicemente un pallone nel Torneo di Viareggio.
